Cocktails and Rocktails at The Nai Harn
The most prestigious property in Phuket, The Nai Harn, represents the spectacular reincarnation of the iconic Royal Phuket Yacht club, a re-branding of a legendary property that over the decades, has built up a strong following amongst some of the world’s most well-known celebrities and royals.
Retaining the valuable heritage of this desirable destination, the hotel’s cocktail list has been specially curated by one of the world's most famous barmen, Salim Khoury, head mixologist for more than three decades at another legendary property, London’s Savoy Hotel, where he ran the legendary American Bar.
Salim’s name first hit headlines when he won the UK Bartender of the Year competition in 1992 with his cocktail ‘Blushing Monarch’, a tribute to Princess Diana. Almost 15 years later, to honour the relaunch of Phuket’s original luxury hotel, he created two unique “Rocktails” which were specifically designed to be enjoyed while taking in the island’s stunning coastal scenery. The Lady Nai Harn is a delicate cocktail made with locally sourced Chalong Bay rum, honey and mint, and the Rum-ble is a refreshing tipple made with golden rum, pineapple and lime that was created in celebration of the Nai Harn’s grand opening.
Overlooking the stretch of the Nai Harn beach that was recently voted Thailand’s best beach by users of TripAdvisor, guests at The Nai Harn can indulge in Salim’s ‘Rocktails’ at the hotel’s new Rock Salt Restaurant. They can also choose from a selection of James Bond style martinis, tropical tiki drinks, classical favourites and refreshing local beers.
Breezy and casual, Rock Salt is a cool beachside restaurant as popular with locals residents and beachgoers as it is with guests of The Nai Harn. The menu features a range of creative and enticing dishes for lunch and dinner, including a number of seaside classics, as well as innovative tapas and everything in between – all served right at the ocean’s edge.
The Nai Harn reopened in January of this year and is the only member of the Leading Hotels of The World on Phuket. The resort is poised to become the island’s last word on luxurious beachfront living and offers 130 luxurious guest rooms and suites, all with panoramic views over the soft white sands and graded azure and turquoise hues of the Andaman Sea, dotted with islands and sailboats. The rooms are designed to open up the whole room, including the bathroom space, to the breathtaking views outside, with a decadent four-poster daybed on the terrace acting as a perfect scenic vantage point. The Nai Harn also features bespoke luxury spa, a stunning new pool plus a choice of food and beverage outlets.
